Dr. Charles I. Shubin has been inducted into Polytechnic Institute's Hall of Fame. The honor recognizes his service as the school's doctor since 1969. Shubin is director of pediatrics at Mercy Family Care.

Dr. J. Marc Simard is the University of Maryland, Baltimore's Research Lecturer of the Year. Simard is a professor in the departments of neurosurgery, pathology and physiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and chief of neurological surgery at Baltimore's Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
