Man reports theft of laptop, jewelry
More than $2,000 in household items, including a laptop computer and jewelry, was stolen from a city home, Annapolis police said.
The owner, who lives on the 800 block of Chester Ave., reported the burglary had taken place sometime between Nov. 20 and 24 while he was away.
Police say woman kicked, bit officer
Charges are pending against a pregnant city woman who authorities say kicked and bit an Annapolis police officer.
Police were investigating a car crash at Forest Drive near Old Annapolis Neck Road on Thursday around 11:15 p.m. when the 25-year-old Marcs Court resident got in the way of the investigation scene.
She was told to stay out of the area but said her aunt was an occupant of one of the vehicles involved and repeatedly cursed at officers, police said.
They tried to arrest her, and a struggle ensued, during which she kicked and bit one of the officers, police said.
She was restrained after a few moments and taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center as a precaution.
Annapolis man is robbed of $500
An Annapolis man was hit with a glass bottle and robbed after he handed a stranger $2, city police said.
The 27-year-old Cutter Court resident said he was walking in the area of Hicks and Dorsey Avenues about 11:50 p.m. Saturday when a man approached and asked for $2. The victim complied, but the man continued walking alongside him until they reached an isolated area, police said.
The robber then struck the victim in the head with the bottle and snatched the victim's wallet, which held about $500 in cash, police said. The robber ran away. The victim suffered a cut to his forehead but declined medical treatment.
Man beaten, robbed outside residence
An Annapolis man was beaten and pistol-whipped as he took out his trash, city police said.
The 40-year-old Primrose Road resident was walking to the trash bin near his apartment building about 9 p.m. Saturday when police said three men approached him. One man placed a handgun against the victim's head while another one grabbed him from behind. They threw him to the ground, hit him in the head with the gun and punched him before grabbing his wallet and fleeing, police said.
Teen beaten, robbed in Brooklyn Park
A Baltimore teenager was beaten and robbed in Brooklyn Park, Anne Arundel County police said.
The 17-year-old victim said he was walking on 4th Street toward Doris Avenue around 8 p.m. Saturday when four boys, around 15 or 16 years old, accosted him, pushed him to the ground and told him to empty his pockets. They kicked and punched him in the face, reached into his pockets and removed several pieces of his property. The suspects fled the scene on foot running toward Audrey Avenue.
The victim suffered a cut, swollen lip and a bump to his forehead but refused medical treatment.
2 assaults reported in Glen Burnie
Two men said they were assaulted and beaten up on Glen Burnie streets during two nights, Anne Arundel County police said.
A 40-year-old victim said he was walking home through the 200 block of Woodhill Drive about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when he was approached from behind by a group of unidentified men. They demanded the victim's money, and he refused. The men punched him and took his wallet before fleeing.
He suffered a minor injury above his right eye and was treated at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
A second man told police he was walking on Route 2 South near Wellham Avenue about 7 p.m. Sunday when four unidentified men jumped out from behind a trash bin. They punched him until he fell to the ground, then took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.
