Four female teenagers have been arrested and charged as adults with attempted murder and other charges after an attack in Edgewood on Sunday left three people hospitalized, Harford County sheriff's deputies said yesterday.

A group of people gathered at the home of Gregory Simmons at the 1900 block of Eloise Lane about 7:30 p.m. to confront a female resident of the house about her relationship with a male neighbor, said Sgt. Christina Presberry, a Harford County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

When Simmons, 44, told the group to leave, he and two others were attacked. Simmons was struck in the head and stabbed in the back, Presberry said; it is unclear what kind of weapon was used.

Simmons was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in serious but stable condition yesterday. A 16-year-old girl suffered neck injuries and was taken by ambulance to Shock Trauma. A third victim, Sharmina Brooks, 22, of Philadelphia, suffered facial injuries and was taken to Franklin Square Hospital Center.

Deputies arrested Shamere Germany, 16, Tommyrre Reid, 16, and Layelle Reid, 15, all of Edgewood, and Toronda Jackson, 17, of Aberdeen. Each was charged as an adult and faces six counts: first- and second-degree attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault, second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property.

They are scheduled for a bond review today in Harford County District Court.
