Around the house

Replace your existing showerhead with a low-flow showerhead, which usually works by mixing air into the water flow to increase water pressure. It will help save money on your water bill.

Instead of relying on recessed lighting for a newly updated room, increase the aesthetics of a room by adding pendant lights on the walls. This will draw the eyes into the room instead of up to the ceiling.

Repair faucet leaks at the kitchen sink. Hot water leaking at a rate of one drip per second can waste more than 1,000 gallons of water annually.

In the yard

Place colorful, cool-season plant containers near the front door or entryway, to can serve as welcoming beacons to friends and visitors during the holiday season.

If you own an outdoor pool and have winterized it, check the covering for holes or tears. Make sure that excess rainwater is vacuumed off the cover.
