We wrote last week about the bitterly cold weather early in 1977. Jeff Brauner of Baltimore recalled "a thin layer of wet snow on the grass and plants on May 9, 1977, the latest that I can remember." He is sure of that date. Me? Not so much. BWI's low on May 9, 1977, was 41 degrees, and we'd reached 88 three days earlier. The only May snow in Baltimore's record books were traces in 1963 and 1923. Maybe it snowed in the colder suburbs. Anyone remember?
