The Beatles and the BSO
The stars of Broadway's original production Beatlemania, acting as John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, will perform a concert of Beatles hits while the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra plays the songs' original accompaniment during the Classical Mystery Tour. Featured songs will include "Penny Lane," complemented by the BSO's trumpet section, "A Day in the Life," with the famous orchestral crescendo performed live, and "Yesterday," accompanied by an acoustic guitar and string quartet.
This Beatles tribute begins at 8 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral St. Tickets are $15-$84. For more information call 410-783-8000 or go to BSOmusic.org.
ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF TREES
Start the holiday season with the 18th annual Kennedy Krieger Institute Festival of Trees. This festival features hundreds of decorated trees, gingerbread houses and wreaths, as well as a performance by the popular children's rock band Milkshake. There will be miles of train track, "reindeer rides," mini golf and lots of holiday gifts available.
The Festival of Trees runs 10 a.m.-9 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, 2200 York Road, Timonium. Milkshake will perform at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. tomorrow. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger. Santa's on track
Greet Santa as he arrives by train tomorrow for the opening of the Holiday Festival of Trains at the B&O; Railroad Museum. The festival, which runs through Dec. 30, will have several types of trains on view, including operating toy trains and model layouts and steam engines. Train rides will also be available and Santa will visit with children Saturdays and Sundays throughout the festival.
The festival is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sundays tomorrow through Dec. 30 at the B&O; Railroad Museum, 901 W.
