Johnson-Farrell had three TD catches, including a game-winning 55-yarder from Nick Elko with 25 seconds left to give the No. 4 Wildcats (11-0) a 34-29 victory in the Class 4A East semifinals Friday. He broke the county record of 15 set by North County's Corey Wright in 1996.

Combined kills by junior Caroline Jacobs (14) and sophomore Kourtney Salvarola in Broadneck's 3-2 Class 4A state volleyball title victory over Wootton (14-5) of Montgomery County. The Bruins (21-1) won their fourth state championship in seven years under coach Romonzo Beans by scores of 25-21, 25-27, 23-25, 25-16 and 15-8.

Career wins by Severna Park field hockey coach Lil Shelton after she led the Falcons (16-3) to their record 17th state championship with a 2-0 win over Quince Orchard on Nov. 12. The 479 wins in 32 years by the Anne Arundel County Sports Hall of Fame coach are the most by any girls coach in Anne Arundel County history.
