Class 4A East regional final: No. 6 Broadneck (9-2) @ No. 4 Arundel (11-0)

OUTLOOK -- The county's best two teams meet for the right to advance to the state semifinals. The host Wildcats are looking for their first regional title since 1983, while the defending regional champion Bruins are looking to claim their fourth regional title in five years. The Wildcats lost to Old Mill, 18-12 in last year's regional semifinals, and have been on a mission to go to the final four ever since. QB senior Nick Elko leads the team in passing and rushing in the no-huddle spread offense. Elko has thrown for 2,293 yards and a county-record 34 touchdowns with just six interceptions. In addition, Elko has run for 733 yards and nine TDs. His favorite targets are Brandon Johnson-Farrell, who has-county leading totals of 72 receptions and 17 TDs, and Alec Lemon, who has 50 catches and 11 TDs. Junior Kyle Colleran guides the Bruins' triple-option. He has thrown for 1,580 yards and 22 TDs with just three interceptions. Colleran has also run for nearly 558 yards and eight TDs. His top receiver is J.J. Hicks, who has 42 catches and 15 scores. The Bruins have given up 11.8 points a game, while the Wildcats have yielded 15.1. Hicks leads the county in interceptions with seven, while John Holland leads Arundel with four.
