Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Arrest -- Dominick Sykes, 19, of the 500 block of N. Bouldin St. was being held at Central Booking and Intake Center on an unrelated charge when members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force served him with a detainer Monday charging him with attempted murder. The detainer charged Sykes with stabbing Derrick Williams in the 1300 block of E. Pratt St. on Dec. 18 last year.


Arrest -- Kevin Smith, 19, of the 400 block of E. Lynne Ave. was arrested at his home Tuesday on a warrant charging him with robbing a man of his wallet Oct. 2 at Smith's home.


Robbery -- Two 23-year-old women were seated in a car in the 4400 block of Bayonne Ave. about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed one woman of $4 and her cell phone and the other woman of $3.


Robbery/arrest -- A woman, 20, was refueling her car at Royal Farms in the 3300 block of Annapolis Road about 7:25 p.m. Tuesday when a man approached and asked if she had any change. When the woman said she had none, the man implied he was armed with a handgun and robbed the woman of her purse containing $24, personal items and keys. A short time later, police were in the 800 block of W. Patapsco Ave. looking for the robber when they observed a man fitting his description and caught him after a brief foot pursuit. Arrested and charged with armed robbery and theft was Michael Shaw, 40, of the 1200 block of Slater Ave. in Cherry Hill. The property was recovered.

Baltimore County


Robbery/shooting -- Police were seeking two males who shot a man after robbing him at Gwynns Mill Court and Dolfield Road. About 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, the victim, 23, was at the intersection when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of his money and a cell phone -- all valued at $170. The gunman shot the victim once in the face with a handgun. The man ran to a nearby store, where employees called police. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was expected to survive. Anyone with information is urged to call detectives at 410-887-6975.

Burglary -- Two TVs, five watches and three fur coats -- all valued at $37,000 -- were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 200 block of Earhart Court.


Theft -- Someone entered the rear yard of a house in the 3700 block of Garden View Road between Oct. 21 and Sunday and stole three 100-pound propane gas tanks.


Assault, robbery -- A man, 50, was walking along Winters Lane near Shipley Ave. about 7:30 p.m. Monday when four males knocked him to the ground and robbed him of a gold watch and his wallet containing $92.


Burglary -- A .380-caliber semiautomatic handgun and a laptop computer -- together worth $5,000 -- were stolen between Saturday and Monday from a house in the 1500 block of Galena Road.

Burglary -- A 400-cubic-inch Plymouth engine, an aluminum manifold and a go-cart were stolen between Oct. 1 and Tuesday from the 6100 block of Ebenezer Road.

North Point

Burglary -- Someone entered an apartment in the 2100 block of Willow Spring Road between Oct. 1 and Oct. 30 and stole two checks and ate food from a refrigerator. The burglary was reported Tuesday.


Burglary -- Police were seeking the person who entered an apartment in the first block of Allegheny Ave. on Monday or Tuesday and rifled a filing cabinet, opened a diary and attempted to read the occupant's e-mail. No property was reported missing.
