Variegated Solomon's Seal(Polygonatum odorata variegata)
During spring and summer, the white-streaked green foliage of Solomon's seal catches the eye in shady gardens, oblivious to drought. Then this deciduous groundcover finishes the year with a flourish -- its lemon-yellow color a boon in fall gardens. In spring, bell-like flowers bloom along new 12- to 18-inch-long stems. A judicious choice for a well-behaved groundcover, plant Solomon's seal about 9 inches apart and you'll have a nice colony in two or three years. Provide rich, well-amended and well-drained soil. Be advised, every part of the plant is poisonous if eaten.
