Antiwar ex-Marine to speak tomorrow

Anne Arundel Peace Action and the Student Peace Action Network will present former Marine Cpl. Adam Kokesh, an Iraq war veteran who has become an antiwar activist, at 1 p.m. tomorrow at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 730 Bestgate Road, Annapolis.

Pastoral counseling focus of workshop

South County Faith Network Inc. will offer a workshop on pastoral counseling for the elderly from 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow in the parish hall of Christ Episcopal Church, 220 Owensville Road, West River.

The program is open to clergy, deacons, church elders, lay leaders, interested faith group members and churches throughout the region.

The topics will include: care services, establishing a senior adult ministry, theological dimensions of pastoral care, basic competency and estate issues, understanding grief and giving comfort.

There will be a continental breakfast and coffee hour beginning at 8:30 a.m.

St. Stephen's plans turkey dinner

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1110 St. Stephen's Church Road in Crownsville, will hold its annual fall turkey dinner from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow and holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets for the dinner are $17 for adults, $5 for children older than 5, and free for children younger than 5.

Soup sale tomorrow at St. Andrew's

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 4 Wallace Manor Road, Edgewater, will hold its weekly soup sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow.

Faure's Requiem to be performed

St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Roman Catholic Church and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and friends will present Faure's Requiem at 8 p.m. Nov. 9 at 1110 St. Stephen's Church Road, Crownsville.

The performance will include a chamber orchestra, harp and pipe organ and will be led by Brendan Walls.
