PLAY OF THE WEEK
Antonio Gates, San Diego at Minnesota -- The addition of wide receiver Chris Chambers will create more big plays for Gates, as evidenced by his 49- and 31-yard touchdown catches Sunday against Houston.
STARTING NOD -- Derek Anderson, Cleveland vs. Seattle: The former Raven has developed into a must-start every week in fantasy leagues. In seven games, he has thrown for 1,744 yards and 17 touchdowns.
NOT THIS WEEK -- Jon Kitna, Detroit; Vince Young, Tennessee; Kurt Warner, Arizona.
STARTING NOD -- Kevin Jones, Detroit vs. Denver: Jones has taken on more responsibility in the Lions' offense every week. Last week at Chicago, he had 23 carries for 105 yards and scored his fourth touchdown in five games.
OTHER SOLID OPTIONS -- Marshawn Lynch, Buffalo; Larry Johnson, Kansas City; Clinton Portis, Washington.
STARTING NOD -- Wes Welker, New England at Indianapolis: While much attention will be focused on Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison, Welker (56 catches, 613 yards, six touchdowns) will steal the show.
STARTING NOD -- Adam Vinatieri, Indianapolis vs. New England: Could the former Patriot be the difference in the big game?
STARTING NOD -- Washington at New York Jets: Embarrassed in New England on Sunday, the Redskins will take out their frustration on the Jets' struggling offense and new quarterback Kellen Clemens.
