Donald F. Reno Sr., a retired Black & Decker advertising executive, died Sunday at Future Care-Chesapeake in Arnold of complications from a broken hip. The Cockeysville resident was 82.

Born in Baltimore and raised in the Gwynns Falls area, he was a 1943 graduate of Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School and earned a bachelor of arts degree at the Johns Hopkins University. During World War II, he was stationed in Panama with the Army as a photo lithographer.

After the war, he held positions in printing and advertising. He retired in 1983 after 25 years with Black & Decker.

Mr. Reno enjoyed model railroading, coin collecting, reading and spending time with his cat.

His wife of 23 years, the former Doris Finnissy, died in 1993.

Mr. Reno requested that his body be donated for medical research to the Anatomy Board of Maryland. No service is planned.

Survivors include three sons, Donald F. Reno Jr. of Annapolis, David W. Reno of Fort Myers, Fla., and Russell L. Reno of Ridgely; a stepson, Charles H. Hackman of Arnold; two stepdaughters, Sharon Sturm of Arnold and Karen Drost of Parkton; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. His 1948 marriage to Amy Michener ended in divorce.
