WYPR raises record funds

The Baltimore Sun

Listeners of Baltimore's public radio station, WYPR-FM (88.1), contributed a record amount to the station during its annual fall membership campaign, which ended last night. More than $200,000 was raised during the drive. Added to the $173,000 pledged before the drive started, that brought the total to more than $373,000. Last year's drive brought in just under $350,000.

"This shows we have a lot of listeners who appreciate what we're doing," said Andy Bienstock, the station's program director. "It's a gratifying sense of community."
