Injured man found in house

The Baltimore Sun

State police are investigating after an injured man, found inside a house where he doesn't live, reported that he had been assaulted and went inside the residence for help.

Police received a 911 call about 1 p.m. yesterday reporting that a man was having trouble breathing in the 500 block of Deer Hollow Road in Mount Airy, police said.

Troopers went to the house, found a shattered sliding door and a man inside who had cuts and bruises on his face, arms and legs. The man, 34, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was hospitalized last night.

His rental car was found at a home on an adjoining property, and his personal items were found scattered down a hill between the car and the home where the man was found, police said.

The injured man told troopers that unknown assailants attacked him while he was traveling toward Mount Airy and that he went inside the house for help and called 911.

No one else was in the home.

State police are trying to verify the man's account. Police are not identifying him because the investigation is continuing.
