Drive-by shooting victim dies

A man hurt in a drive-by shooting Sunday night in Northwest Baltimore has died of his injuries, and a pregnant woman who was also shot was in serious condition yesterday, city police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 7 p.m. in the 2600 block of Quantico Ave., police said. As a car drove past people sitting on the front porch steps of a house, at least one person in the car opened fire, police said.

The male victim was shot in the chest, and the woman, who is nine months pregnant, was shot in the face and abdomen, police said.

Both were taken to Sinai Hospital, where the man was pronounced dead about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. Their names and ages were not available.

Police did not release information about possible suspects or a motive.

There was no information about the woman's fetus.
