Stover gets things started
After both teams failed to move the ball on their first two possessions, the Ravens took possession at their 47-yard line after a punt. The Ravens got to the St. Louis 21, but after Jason Brown was called for a false start on fourth-and-one, Matt Stover kicked a 43-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead with 1:46 left.

McGahee caps 75-yard drive
A 42-yard field goal by Stover early in the quarter gave the Ravens a 6-0 lead. The Rams recovered a fumble by Kyle Boller and reached the Ravens' 9-yard line, but Jeff Wilkins missed a 35-yard field-goal attempt. The Ravens took over and went on a 75-yard drive that ended with a 6-yard touchdown run by Willis McGahee to take a 13-0 lead going into halftime.

Rams break up shutout
Up 13-0 at halftime, the Ravens extended their lead to 16-0 on a 23-yard field goal by Stover. The Rams finally got on the scoreboard with a 32-yard field goal by Jeff Wilkins, and the Ravens led 16-3 at the end of the quarter.

Stover added his fourth and fifth field goals, from 31 and 36 yards, to push the Ravens' lead to 22-3. Rams quarterback Gus Frerotte threw his fourth and fifth interceptions of the game (to safety Ed Reed and cornerback Derrick Martin), the last one coming with 2:07 to play.
