John Isner laughs when he is asked how a guy nearly 6 feet 10, who grew up in Greensboro, N.C., the heart of Tobacco Road, could wind up playing professional tennis.

"I'm a huge basketball fan," said Isner, who will show off his tennis skills tomorrow night in the PNC Tennis Classic at 1st Mariner Arena.
