The Baltimore Sun

I see cattle skulls, tumbleweeds and thirsty prospectors crawling across Ritchie Highway. If the forecast holds true, today will mark the 22nd consecutive day without rain at the airport. The last time we had measurable precipitation in these parts was back on Sept. 14-15, a pitiful 0.12 inch. Barely a third of an inch fell in September, none yet in October. The Baltimore record for consecutive days without rain is 32, ending Oct. 31, 1963. Ten days to go. But I've jinxed it. Now it will rain.
