Ella Louise Andrews, 78

Ella Louise Andrews, who worked in soldering at area defense industries and had an animal care business, died of cancer Friday at Northwest Hospital Center. The Northwest Baltimore resident was 78.

Born Ella Louise Bedford in Baltimore and raised in Towson, she attended Carver High School and the Apex Hair School.

She worked at AAI Industries and Westinghouse Electrical Corp. in Linthicum.

Mrs. Andrews also did house-sitting jobs and took care of her clients' pets. She also bred small dogs, played tennis at Druid Hill Park and skied. She enjoyed playing the guitar and piano.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Wilson Park Christian Community Church, 4629 York Road, where she was a member.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Andrews; three sons, Michael Jones, Charles "Bunky" Andrews and Gilbert Bedford; two daughters, Barbara Jean Pearce and Tyra Bedford; four brothers, Harold Johnston, Howard Bedford, Donald "Mickey" Bedford and Herbert Bedford; two sisters, Shirley Gorham and June Barner; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; all of the Baltimore area.
