Mayo Shattuck III already had earned high marks from PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem for the way Shattuck's company, Constellation Energy, had helped energize the Champions Tour's financially challenged Baltimore event in 2003.

In summer 2005, Shattuck thought it was time to grow his tournament as he had his company.

General parking at Oregon Ridge Park is free. Free shuttles will run continually between general parking and Baltimore Country Club. Shuttles will drop off and pick up spectators at the main admission gate adjacent to the 16th fairway. Shuttles will run until one hour after play ends.
