Look at dementia, Alzheimer's set

The National Family Caregiver Support Program will be holding a three-part workshop on dementia and Alzheimer's disease at the following locations:

Arnold Senior Center, 44 Church Road, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 5, 19 and 26.

Brooklyn Park Senior Center, 202 Hammonds Lane, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11, 18 and 25.

Maryland City Activity Center, Resurrection of Our Lord Church, 8402 Brock Ridge Road, Laurel, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 13 and 27 and Dec. 4.

O'Malley Senior Center, 1275 Odenton Road, Odenton, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 9, 16 and 23.

Pasadena Senior Center, 4103 Mountain Road, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. today and Oct. 10 and 17.

Pascal Senior Center, 125 Dorsey Road, Glen Burnie, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 1, 8 and 15.

South County Senior Center, 27 Stepney's Lane, Edgewater, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tomorrow, and Oct. 11 and 18.

Savings available on prescriptions

Anne Arundel County residents can get significant savings on prescription medications through the Department of Health's Prescription Discount Program.

Program participants can receive a discount card that offers an average discount of 25 percent. County residents enrolled in Medicare Part D can use the card for savings on prescriptions that are not covered by their Medicare Part D program.

The card also could provide discounts on routine vision and hearing care, which is not covered by Medicare.

This discount program, which is not an insurance program, has no enrollment cost or monthly fees.
