Austin W. Quinn, a former booking agent and avid golfer, died of a heart attack Sept. 26 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace. The Middle River resident was 59.

Mr. Quinn was born in Darby, Pa., and raised in Springfield, Pa. He was a 1967 graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, where he played football and basketball.

He attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he played football until injuries ended his athletic career. In 1974, he earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Baltimore.

Mr. Quinn, who worked for 20 years booking bands for hotels and clubs, worked in recent years as a salesman for a Baltimore liquor store.

"He played golf at local and regional courses every weekend that he could," said John E. Quinn of Kingwood, Texas, who said his brother suffered his heart attack while playing golf at Bulle Rock golf course near Havre de Grace.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at the Griffith Funeral Home, 520 Chester Pike, Norwood, Pa.
