Towson falls just short again

The Baltimore Sun

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Towson pressured one of the top quarterbacks in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision into his worst game of the season, nearly quadrupled its rushing average despite not having its starting tailback and was within one pass of pulling out a win in the closing seconds.

But when Tigers receiver Demetrius Harrison slipped on his route and couldn't connect with Sean Schaefer on a fourth-down pass into the end zone, it meant the Tigers had lost again to William and Mary. And Towson coach Gordy Combs wasn't interested in whatever benefits his team might draw from yesterday's 27-22 loss at Zable Stadium.
