Towson (2-2) at William and Mary (2-2)

Outlook -- Now that the Tigers have fallen to two talented teams, Massachusetts and Delaware, they hope to rebound this week against a William and Mary squad that is 4-0 against Towson and averaging 36.2 points a game this season. The Tribe is coming off a 44-3 loss to Virginia Tech, but it leads the Colonial Athletic Association in passing yardage with an average of 329 yards a game. Towson will be out today to rediscover its passing game in particular and offense in general after scoring just two touchdowns the past two weeks. Tigers quarterback Sean Schaefer needs to prove he can throw for high yardage against William and Mary, just as he did the past two seasons against Delaware, and stay away from the eight interceptions and 16 sacks he has endured in four games. Towson's leading receiver is Paul Perry, who has 24 catches for 264 yards and one touchdown.
Morgan State (1-3) at Bethune-Cookman (2-2)

Outlook -- Morgan State has had nine days to recover from a 24-17 overtime loss to a strong Hampton team. The Bears could use the loss as a springboard to bigger and better things the rest of the season, or they could be wrecked by the failure to finish a dramatic comeback that sent the game into overtime. Morgan is ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in rushing, averaging 252 yards a game, thanks in large part to junior offensive tackle Dakarai Grimsley, who was named last week's MEAC Offensive Player of the Week. Bethune-Cookman is led by 5-foot-9 senior quarterback Jimmie Russell, who has rushed for 334 yards, passed for 358 yards, and has eight total touchdowns.
St. Paul's (1-3) at Bowie State (1-3)

Outlook -- Bowie State was no great shakes last week in its 10-7 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association season-opening victory over Fayetteville State. Bowie State does have the league's leading punter, Ronald Walls, who is averaging 38.7 yards a punt; the second-leading kick returner in the CIAA, Larry Dixon (26.3 yards per return); and Alexander Payton, who is second in the league with five sacks.
Apprentice School (1-2) at Salisbury (4-0)

Outlook -- The No. 18 Sea Gulls (American Football Coaches Association Division III poll) are the only unbeaten college football team in the state. Salisbury has won six straight in the series by a combined score of 252-38. Senior running back and co-captain Jamar Garner was honored this week as the Atlantic Central Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his game-high 127 yards on nine carries last week.
Johns Hopkins (1-3) at Muhlenberg (3-0)

Outlook -- The Blue Jays' offense played its way into the school's record books last week by scoring the most points (41) ever in a loss, 44-41 to Moravian. The Mules' defense is highly ranked among the nation's Division III schools - fifth in scoring defense (4.3 points a game) and total defense (141.3 yards a game), ninth in pass-efficiency defense (65.6 percent rating), and 12th in rushing defense (50.3 yards a game).
Frostburg State (1-2) at Duquesne (1-2)
Time -- 1 p.m.
Site -- Arthur J. Rooney Field, Pittsburgh
Outlook -- This is the first game Frostburg State has played against the Dukes since they left Division III to become a Division 1-AA school (now Football Championship Subdivision). The Bobcats were 3-0 against Duquesne as a Division III school. Duquesne averages 300.7 yards passing a game and 405.3 yards total offense. Frostburg wide receiver Fred Howze has extended his consecutive games catching a pass to 24, and has surpassed 1,000 yards receiving in his career.
Juniata (0-3) at McDaniel (0-4)

Outlook -- An already dismal Green Terror season became a lot bleaker 10 days ago in practice, when senior quarterback and captain Brad Baer was apparently lost for the season with a fractured fibula near his ankle. Baer was replaced by Tom Wenrich for last Saturday's 37-20 loss to Dickinson, with Wenrich completing only 15 of 38 passes for 152 yards, in addition to being intercepted three times.
