Howard hospital appoints Hadsell

Sharon P. Hadsell has been named senior vice president of patient care services at Howard County General Hospital.

She is responsible for all clinical areas that involve nursing care, such as inpatient nursing units; emergency services; women's and children's services; ancillary services, such as rehabilitation; clinical education; and patient care staffing and operations.

She was director of clinical support services at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

Hadsell holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Southern Illinois University and a master's degree in nursing from Loyola University of Chicago.

She is certified in nursing administration.

Volunteer Lawyers Service honors Carroll

Linda Hudroge Carroll, a Howard County attorney, has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service for furthering pro bono services in Central Maryland for domestic-law clients.

This year, she provided representation to eight pro bono clients of the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service and three contested-custody clients.

Berthold wins WIPP award

Gloria Berthold, president of TargetGov in Elkridge, is a winner of a Women Impacting Public Policy 2007 Member of the Year Award.

TargetGov offers marketing and other services to businesses selling to federal, state, county and municipal agencies.

WIPP is a bipartisan national women's business group of more than 500,000 members.
