North Caroline Bulldog Tournament

WHEN -- Saturday, 9 a.m.

WHO -- No. 2 Reservoir, No. 6 Centennial, Wilde Lake

OUTLOOK -- Centennial will chase its fourth straight title in the highly regarded tournament in Caroline County. The Eagles, under first-year coach Larry Schofield, bring a largely new cast up from the junior varsity, with senior Liana Farb the team's lone returning starter from last year's Class 3A state title team. Reservoir, led by senior hitter Jamie Huffman, could keep the title in Howard County.

Howard @ Reservoir

WHEN -- Saturday, 1 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- After going 4-6 last season, the host Gators are off to a 3-0 start after Friday's 42-0 win over Oakland Mills. Senior running back Robert While and junior fullback Tyler Howell combined to score five rushing touchdowns last week. The visiting Lions are led by quarterback Jeff Kalski and wide receiver Jeff Javier.

Glenelg @ Centennial

WHEN -- Tuesday, 3:30 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- The teams met in last year's inaugural county championship game, with Glenelg coming away with a 3-2 overtime win on a goal from Rachael Leaf. The Gladiators carried the momentum into the playoffs and captured the Class 2A-1A state title. Another high-scoring game could take place this time. Glenelg replaced its entire starting defense from last year but still boasts a powerful offense led by senior Amy Thompson. The Eagles counter with senior Sarah Parks, who scored a school-record and county-best 28 goals last fall.

Wilde Lake @ No. 5 River Hill

WHEN -- Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- Wilde Lake recorded two one-goal county wins last week to enter this week with a 3-0 league mark. The Wildecats will get a chance to knock off another state champion, River Hill. Junior Faryn Watts is the Wildecats' offensive catalyst, while the Hawks look to Erica Suter, Janie Tankard and senior defender Amy Song.
