An obituary published in Saturday's editions of The Sun for Louis J. Averella Sr. misstated his age. He was 80. Also, as a National Maritime Union patrolman for 19 years, Mr. Averella was not a security officer, but rather acted in that position as a mediator between seamen and their supervisors.
