2 new deans emerge from reorganization

As a result of an academic reorganization, two new dean positions have been created at Carroll Community College.

The new dean of arts, letters and social sciences is Steven Geppi. He was previously chair of the Division of Social Sciences and Legal Studies.

The new dean of business, mathematics and sciences is Judith Coen. Previously, she was dean of mathematics, sciences, health and wellness.

Other academic promotions include: Craig Swanson, Michael Stovall, promoted from instructor to assistant professor; Robert Brown, Donald Hoepfer, promoted from assistant professor to associate professor; Kate Demarest, promoted from associate professor to professor.

25 are graduates in practical nursing

Carroll Community College recently graduated 25 students from the Practical Nursing Program.

Graduates are: Martha Aten, Lisa Jenkins, Blair Hoffman, Theresa Flavin, Megan Gorman, Tabethia Pardoe, Heather Muller, Amy Price, Sarah Lloyd, Paige Cline, Julee Mingee, Lori Ann Napoli, Ashley Hall, Loren Ackman, Melissa Hughes, Morgan Lokey, Amber Nazelrod, Lindsay Schultheis, Laura Letts, Elizabeth James, Cathy Hamm, Beth Lay, Jennifer Bell, Carrie Bednarski and Connie Diehl.

Psi Beta chapter wins service award

Carroll Community College's student chapter of the national Psi Beta honor society in psychology for community colleges has been recognized for community service projects completed between fall 2006 and spring 2007.

The Psi Beta/Carol Tracy Community Service Award was presented at the 2007 American Psychological Association national convention in San Francisco. Community service projects completed include a food drive; a collection of stuffed bears for the Carroll Hospice Center; an Adopt-a-Family program; a children's book drive; and a clothing drive.

13 students graduate as nursing assistants

Carroll Community College recently graduated 13 students from the Certified Nursing Assistant class.

Graduates are: Heidi Bohmer, Ashley Brinker, Kristen Fandel, Rachel Hann, Roxane Hooper, Eileen Keenan, Karen Leppo, Heather Liberto, Chelsea Ruch, Kent Shefchek, Kari Watt, Sarah Wolf and John Workman.
