William N. Boone, 73

William N. Boone, a retired printer and dance instructor, died Friday of cancer at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 73.

Mr. Boone was born in Baltimore and raised on Abbotston Street. He was a graduate of Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School and served in an Army engineering unit.

A printer for more than 30 years, Mr. Boone worked at Port City Press and Waverly Press until retiring in 1995.

From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Boone, a resident of East Northern Parkway, was a distribution manager for USA Today.

Mr. Boone enjoyed ballroom dancing and had been an Arthur Murray Dance Studio instructor.

He was active in Masonic affairs and was a past grand master of the Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge.

His longtime companion, Sondra Snyder, died in 1997.

An earlier marriage to the former Gwen Houdeschel ended in divorce.

Services were held yesterday at Bonnie Blink, the Maryland Masonic Home, in Hunt Valley.

Survivors include his brother, Frederick L. Boone of Baltimore; and two nieces.
