What it's about -- A guy's mom is about to marry the gym teacher who tormented him all through middle school.

The Kid Attractor Factor -- Seann William Scott and Billy Bob Thornton and lots of you-never-outgrow-middle-school slapstick.

Good lessons/bad lessons -- More than a few good ones, the biggest being "Let go of your past" and don't judge your toughest teachers by how they made you feel at the time.

Violence -- Wrestling, threats.

Language -- Lots of profanity.

Sex -- Yes, the icky mom-and-her-new-beau kind.

Drugs -- Beer.

Parents' advisory -- The crudeness of a PG-13 with a shockingly sentimental streak about school, who we were and what we became and the teachers who made us what we are today.

The Brave One

Rating -- R for strong violence, language and some sexuality.

What it's about -- A mugging that killed her fiance and grievously wounded a woman has her buying a gun and thinking "revenge."

The Kid Attractor Factor -- Simplistic violence with the veneer of righteousness, and Jodie Foster and Terrence Howard.

Good lessons/bad lessons -- Taking that first life is awful. After that, it's easy.

Violence -- A savage beating, brutal shootings.

Language -- A bit of the coarsest profanity imaginable.

Sex -- Prostitution.

Drugs -- Alcohol and drug abuse.

Parents' advisory -- Pretty heavy for younger kids, and you really have to question the vigilante message imparted here.
