Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Shooting -- A man in his 30s was being treated at a hospital after he was shot in the neck by an assailant in the first block of N. Ellamont St. near Gwynns Falls Parkway about 2:15 a.m. yesterday.


Shooting -- Shortly before 3 a.m. yesterday police responding to a report of a shooting in the 2800 block of E. Federal St., near Baltimore Cemetery, found a 20-year-old man lying in the street and bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. He was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and admitted. His condition was not available, and no arrest had been made.


Burglary -- Someone broke into Slader's liquor store in the 1200 block of Mosher St. through a third-floor rear window between Sept. 8 and Monday and removed 18 bottles of brandy, three bottles of rum, two cases plus 10 bottles of vodka, a case of wine, beer and 12 cartons of cigarettes -- all valued at more than $1,000. The intruder also made off with a security camera and left the store through the same window.

Burglary -- An undisclosed sum of money, 30 cartons of cigarettes and several watches were stolen Wednesday from Edmondson Discount Mart in the 2700 block of Edmondson Ave. by someone who entered through an air duct in the ceiling. Police said the store's security camera was broken by the intruder.

Burglaries -- Two houses in the 1300 block of W. Lafayette Ave. were broken into between Sept. 7 and Wednesday by someone who entered each dwelling from a second-floor fire escape. Two furnaces and an air-conditioner compressor were taken from one home, and three faucets, two water meters and a water heater from the other. The total value of the property stolen was more than $8,300.


Stolen vehicle -- A burgundy Ford F-150 pickup truck with tags 88K 569 was stolen Monday in the first block of N. Caroline St.

Robbery -- A boy, 15, was riding his bike in the 300 block of S. Wolfe St. about 6 p.m. Tuesday when an older male armed with a knife forced him to give up the bike, which was valued at $300.

Robbery -- Police were seeking two men who attacked a man, 25, as he walked in the 100 block of N. Patterson Park Ave. about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and robbed him of his wallet, which contained $200. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

Burglary -- Someone broke into a house in the 600 block of S. Lakewood Ave. on Tuesday through a rear window and stole a wallet containing $40.

Burglary -- Ten digital video discs -- all valued at $220 -- were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 300 block of S. President St. by someone who entered after damaging a door.

Burglary -- A laptop computer of unknown value was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 2400 block of Jefferson St. by someone who entered through a basement window.

Baltimore County

Burglary/arrests -- Two teenage boys were arrested Wednesday and charged with breaking into a vacant house in the 6000 block of Barstow Road in Garden Village through a rear door that day. Nothing was reported stolen. The boys, ages 15 and 16, were released into the custody of their parents.


Burglary -- A 2005 Suzuki all-terrain vehicle valued at $5,000 was stolen Tuesday or Wednesday from a garage in the 500 block of Wampler Road. Police said the intruder caused $200 in damage to the garage while entering.

North Point

Burglary -- A 21-inch screen TV, a hunting bow and two sets of golf clubs -- all valued at nearly $3,300 -- were stolen Wednesday afternoon from a garage in the 3800 block of Edgewater Place.


Burglary -- Two mountain bikes were stolen between Aug. 29 and Wednesday from a shed in the 2000 block of Dumont Road.

Burglary -- A Kawasaki all-terrain vehicle was stolen Tuesday or Wednesday in the 14000 block of Falls Road. A short time later, the vehicle was found in a nearby house with its ignition wires cut. No arrest had been made.


Burglary -- Police were seeking a man who entered Macy's at Owings Mills Mall through a rear loading dock door about 9 p.m. Tuesday and was observed on a surveillance camera a short time later leaving the same way carrying a bag containing clothing valued at nearly $600.


Burglary -- Someone entered an apartment in the 3400 block of Firelight Lane early Wednesday and stole a laptop computer and a cell phone -- all valued at nearly $1,800.


Burglary -- An iPod and video games were stolen Wednesday from a townhouse in the 4200 block of McDowell Lane in Baltimore Highlands by someone who entered through a rear window.
