Terps' defense looks to attack ball, create more turnovers

The Baltimore Sun

According to Maryland cornerback Kevin Barnes, the Terps' inability to create turnovers last season was the one thing that stopped the defense - and the team - from taking its game to the next level.

After only two games, the Terps have already shown progress in that area, with three FIU turnovers helping the Terps to a 26-10 win over Florida International on Saturday night. In its first two games, Maryland grabbed three interceptions - including two by Barnes. The Terps totaled eight interceptions all last season.
