Maryland offense vs. FIU defense -- Florida International cornerback Lionell Singleton, a senior from Tallahassee, led the Sun Belt Conference in interceptions (0.5 per game) and passes defended (1.6 per game). He intercepted former Maryland quarterback Sam Hollenbach in the end zone last year. This year, Singleton will face first-year quarterback Jordan Steffy, who helped the Terps to 428 yards of total offense in the season opener against Villanova. Running back Keon Lattimore scored three rushing touchdowns last weekend and has been playing the best football of his career.
Maryland defense vs. FIU offense -- The Golden Panthers' running game is led by junior A'Mod Ned, who rushed for 88 yards on 15 carries against the Terps last year, including a 52-yard burst in the fourth quarter that set up a field goal. The entire offensive line returns from last season to block for Ned and second-leading rusher Justin Reams. FIU was just blanked 59-0 by Penn State, and Maryland's defense is coming off a solid performance in which it held Villanova to 187 yards of total offense.
