No. 3 Fallston opened the field hockey season yesterday with a 4-0 victory at home over Mount Hebron.
Rachel Cooke, Caitlin Walker, Katie Conner and Krissy Fusco each scored a goal, with Cooke adding an assist.
"We passed the ball well and did a good job finishing," coach Alice Puckett said. "The defense played well, Kelsey Heckler and Roxy Raab had exceptional games."
The Cougars went 16-2 and won the Upper Chesapeake Bay Conference championship last season.
No. 10 Fallston 6, No. 8 Mount Hebron 1 -- Amanda Ballard and Monica Fisher each scored two goals as the Cougars (1-0) defeated Vikings (0-1). Bridget Docherty recorded 20 saves in the losing effort. Fallston will play in the Chesapeake tournament Saturday.
No. 13 Arundel 10, Annapolis Area Christian 0 -- The Wildcats (1-0) fired 30 shots on goal en route to a big win over the Eagles (0-1). Danielle Fabia had three goals for Arundel while Alyssa Fowler had two goals and assisted on three others. AACS goalie Kellan Hecker saved 20 shots. Her teammates had only three shots on goal.
