Upper Chesapeake Health is offering a free informational class, "Bariatric Surgery: New Course for Life," at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Havre de Grace Room at Harford Memorial Hospital.
Participants can learn from the staff of Upper Chesapeake Bariatric Surgery whether this procedure is right for them.
A monthly support group for people who have had the surgery will meet after the class at 7 p.m.

Cancer support offered in group
Upper Chesapeake Medical Center will hold a "Man to Man Prostate Support Group" at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Fallston Room.
Men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and their families are welcome.

Upper Chesapeake Health will offer the following activities this month:
Every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.: Course in Miracles Reading Group, Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Maryland Room. Dr. Dahlia Hirsch will discuss the book Course in Miracles. Information: 410-676-9691.
Sept. 22 from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m.: Blood pressure screenings and health information will be provided at the Bel Air Farmers' Market, Bond and Thomas streets.
Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.: Guided Imagery, Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace Room. Participants can learn about and experience this mind-body intervention focused on stress reduction and a sense of well-being.
Sept. 30 from noon to 4 p.m.: Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company Open House, 1403 Old Mountain Road South, Joppa. Blood pressure screenings, body fat analysis and cholesterol screenings will be offered. There is a $10 (cash or check only) fee for cholesterol screening.

'Look Good' offered for cancer patients
The American Cancer Society is sponsoring a "Look Good, Feel Better" program for cancer patients from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
The program provides makeup and hair techniques to counter the effects of treatment.

Fertility center opens new office
The Fertility Center of Maryland has opened a new office in Bel Air at 2014 S. Tollgate Road, Suite 107.
The center is open from 7:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The phone number is 800-405-4IVF.
The center offers free patient education seminars that include dinner and a free initial consultation with any one of three reproductive endocrinologists.
