An unidentified man was fatally shot in Southeast Baltimore early yesterday in the 2000 block of E. Fairmount Ave. in the Butcher's Hill neighborhood. Police said they found the man lying in the street with an apparent head wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

One victim of a quadruple shooting Thursday night in the 3000 block of Normount Court in Rosemont died early yesterday. The 22-year-old man had been shot in the head. A teen-ager remained in critical condition yesterday.

LAST YEAR: Baltimore had recorded 179 homicides as of Aug. 31, 2006.
