Belly-dancing classes set at Slayton House
The Wilde Lake Community Association will offer belly-dancing classes with Mia Naja from Sept. 18 to Oct. 23 at Slayton House in Wilde Lake Village Center.
Classes for beginners (Level I) will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays; A Bellypower (Level II) class will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays. The cost is $60 for beginners and $90 for advanced students. Drop-ins pay $15 a class.
Columbia residents can request a 10 percent discount. Classes will not be prorated.
Kindermusik classes are free to children
Free Kindermusik classes for newborn babies to 4-year-old children will be offered tomorrow and Tuesday at Kahler Hall in Harper's Choice Village Center.

Senior yoga -- Yoga Center of Columbia will hold classes for senior citizens at Slayton House in Wilde Lake Village. The slower-paced, gentle-yoga classes emphasize breathing and stress reduction and are tailored to individual needs and ability. The classes will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays, starting Sept. 6. A free class will be offered Thursday. The six-week session, which ends Oct. 11, costs $78; the cost to drop in is $15. Marvelous movies -- Marvelous Movies & More, a film series at Slayton House in Wilde Lake Village Center, will begin its new season at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7 with a showing of the 1934 film, Cleopatra, directed by Cecil B. DeMille. Mike Giuliano, an arts writer who teaches film history at Howard Community College and Maryland Institute College of Art, will be the host for the series, introducing each film and leading a discussion after the showing. Play groups -- The Town Center Community Association is accepting registration for its fall 2007 session of Parents & Tots Play Groups, which begin the week of Sept. 10.
