A 50-year-old Westminster man remains in custody on charges that he robbed a High's dairy store at gunpoint of an undisclosed sum of money Friday night, state police said.
About 7 p.m., a 48-year-old clerk at the store in the 400 block of E. Main St. reported that a man wearing an orange bandana over his face and armed with a handgun forced her to give him money from the cash register, said Tfc. Rebecca Bosley, the prime investigator.
Bosley said police responding to the robbery stopped a man fitting the robber's description less than a mile away and recovered from his back pocket a sum consistent with the amount taken. No weapon was recovered.
Bosley said a review of the store's security tape showed that no weapon was displayed.
Charged with armed robbery and held in lieu of $45,000 bail at the county Detention Center in Westminster was Brendon Lincoln Marshall of the 100 block of E. Green St.
Bosley said the investigation is continuing.
