Fountain Grass 'Karley Rose'(Pennisetum orientale 'Karley Rose')

When drought hits a summer garden, the rosy-pink plumes of 'Karley Rose' are as perky as ever. This ornamental grass can be used as the backbone of perennial beds or as a low, dense screen. Clumps grow about 3-4 feet tall and wide. Above the plant's clean, disease-resistant leaves, bristle-brush flower heads bloom from June until frost. They are particularly beautiful when backlit by morning or evening sun. Flower heads turn to seed heads and can be left to provide winter interest in your garden.

'Karley Rose' is dependable and low-maintenance. Plant in average, well-drained soil in full sun. Cut back and divide in late winter to early spring. Unwanted self-seeding does not seem to be a problem.
