Comic foray -- Rep Stage, the professional theater in residence at Howard Community College, will open its 15th season with A.R. Gurney's comic view of the power of the individual in politics, Mrs. Farnsworth, which will run from Wednesday to Sept. 23 on the college campus, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia. The play, which is set in a classroom of a New York City university before the 2004 presidential election, will be staged in a classroom in the college's Nursing Building (N220). Pay-what-you-can performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Previews are also scheduled for 8 p.m. Aug. 24 and 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Aug. 25. Tickets are $15. Tickets to other performances are $17 to $25, with discounts for groups, senior citizens, and college faculty, staff members and students.
