Two charged with piracy
Two Baltimore men were charged with movie and music piracy after officers found them selling CDs and movies in their car, Anne Arundel County police said.
Officers responding to a report of a drug transaction in the parking lot along the 800 block of Camp Meade Road in Glen Burnie on Aug. 8 said they found a car there was filled with more than 300 CDs DVDs of current movies, including Hairspray, Transformers, The Bourne Ultimatum and The Simpsons Movie, in packaging not used by the manufacturer.
After getting a warrant, officers also found a portable DVD player and a computerized duplication system, police said. Investigators from the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc & The Recording Industry Association of America determined that the recovered CDs and DVDs were pirated.
Ricky D. Adams, 38, and Alex Peterson, 39, were charged with manufacturing and offering counterfeited goods and possession of goods not having the manufacturer's name and address on goods.
Glen Burnie bank robbed Tuesday
A Glen Burnie bank was robbed Tuesday, Anne Arundel County police said.
The robber entered the Bank of Glen Burnie, 7984 Crain Highway, around 9:15 a.m. and demanded money from the tellers. Police said they handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the robbers walked out of the bank.
He was described as black, about 35 years old, 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall, overweight and wearing jeans, a bright blue shirt, a black FedEx baseball hat and glasses.
Severn man beaten, robbed
A 25-year-old Severn man said he was beaten and robbed while waiting for a bus, Anne Arundel County police said.
The victim, who lives on Kilmory Court, was standing at the intersection of Stillmeadows Drive and Jacobs Road around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday when two men approached and assaulted him before stealing his wallet, police said. The suspects fled on foot toward Parham Court in the Stillmeadows community.
The victim was treated and released from Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Teens robbed in Odenton
Three boys skateboarding near the SuperFresh store in Odenton said they were robbed by two other boys who threatened to stab them, Anne Arundel County police said.
The boys, ages 14, 14 and 15, said the robbers approached them around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of 1155 Annapolis Road, with one implying he had a knife. They demanded that the boys given them their money, which they did, and the robbers fled, police said.
Man robbed while using ATM
A man using the ATM at a Glen Burnie bank was robbed at gunpoint, Anne Arundel County police said.
The man was withdrawing cash from the drive-up machine at the Bank of America, 7206 Ritchie Highway, around 9 p.m. Wednesday when a man approached him and said, "Halt!" Police said he walked up to the driver's side window and pointed a black handgun at the victim.
He quickly drove away from the robber, but when he returned a few minutes later, he saw his money had been taken from the ATM.
Suspect sought in string of thefts
Annapolis police said yesterday that they are looking for a man known only as "Shorty Rob" after a series of thefts in the Annapolis Gardens community.
A property manager for the Annapolis Housing Authority reported on Tuesday that someone had removed nine aluminum window frames from six different townhouses in the 1800 block of Bowman Court, police said.
The thief had removed the frames, then broke out the glass and disassembled the frames before taking them from the scene. Investigation determined that the frames had been sold to a nearby recycling center as scrap metal.
The man who sold the material is known to the recycling center only as Shorty Rob, who has also been implicated in other unsolved crimes in the area.
He is described as black, in his 30s or 40s, short with a heavy build, and he frequents the Annapolis Gardens. Anyone with information on his identity is asked to call police at 410-268-9000.
