THE VICTIMS Byron Dickey, 27, of East Baltimore, died late last night at Johns Hopkins Hospital after he was shot several times yesterday afternoon in the 2100 block of Barclay St. Police said Dickey was shot at close range by an unknown gunman. His death was the city's 196th homicide this year.

In another slaying, a 20-year-old Baltimore man was shot Saturday and died later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police found the victim, Davon McCargo, about 5 p.m. in the 1300 block of W. Lafayette Ave.
