Man shot on street is city's 194th killing of '07

Northwestern District officers responding about 1:30 p.m. yesterday to a report of a man shot in the 3400 block of Dupont Ave. in the city's Central Park Heights neighborhood found the victim lying in the street bleeding from several gunshot wounds to the upper body, said Agent Donny Moses, a police spokesman.

The man, whose identity was withheld pending notification of family members, was taken by a city Fire Department ambulance to Sinai Hospital, where he died in the emergency room about 2 p.m., Moses said.

The spokesman said homicide detectives had no witnesses to the shooting and knew of no motive, Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Arthur Brummer at 410-396-2100.

Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888 is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the killing, the city's 194th this year.

During the corresponding period last year, the city had recorded 167 homicides, Moses said.
