Hip-hop tribute

The lowdown -- Tonight, a number of local hip-hop artists will come together at Sonar to pay tribute to the genre's Golden Age. The list of performers includes Wade Waters, Sean Toure, Ardamus and more. Minus Nine provides the beats.

Dear Abby

The lowdown -- Abby Mott, a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter known for her sweet and soulful voice, will perform tomorrow at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson for the release of her CD, Hearts A Flutter. Her debut CD features Mott on the piano, guitar, bass and cello, synthesizing it into a whimsical pop-like style. Performing with Mott will be Jay Novak on drums and Johhny Armero on bass.
