The lowdown -- The new group Single Carrot Theatre presents Adam Rapp's 2006 Pulitzer finalist play Red Light Winter at Theatre Project through Aug. 19. In the adult-themed play, two best friends travel to Amsterdam, Netherlands, and fall in love with a window prostitute. When they return home to the U.S., they start to realize how much the experience affected them.

Spy tales
The lowdown -- Democracy, by Tony Award-winning playwright Michael Frayn (Noises Off, Copenhagen), re-creates the relationship between West German Chancellor Willy Brandt and his personal assistant, Gunter Guillaume, who passed information to the Stasi, East Germany's notorious secret police.
