The Baltimore Sun

You know you shouldn't have stayed outside so long without your big hat and your SPF 50. Now the end of summer is in sight, and you're wondering how you'll make it up to your poor, dry, sun-damaged skin -- not to mention your stressed-out, over-chlorinated hair.

Not to worry. We're here to help. Three local women have their own lines of restorative, Earth-friendly products that will make your skin and your hair happy and healthy again.

Monave Deep Treat Conditioner and Rosemary Hair Tonic

Prices: Each is $15

Deborah Bilezikian's ethnically aware company, Monave Mineral Cosmetics, has a new line of hair products that are natural and vegan.

Where to get them: or at the retail shop at 1750 Eastern Ave., Suite 100. (The entrance is on Ann Street, between Eastern Avenue and Bank Street in Fells Point.) SaSa's Spa in Bolton Hill also carries Monave products.

Why we like them: The conditioner's combination of almond oil, shea butter and rosemary repairs and smoothes damaged hair cuticles. The hair tonic softens and moisturizes dry hair naturally and makes it shiny.

Sevi Sea Berry Daily Moisturizer and Orange Blossom Repair Elixir

Prices: $18 and $16

Sevi Kay handcrafts her fair-trade, cruelty-free, vegan, all-natural cosmetics and creams, then sells them through her Web site and, if you're out that way, spas and salons on the West Coast.

Where to get them:

Why we like them: The moisturizer heals and soothes skin and helps it retain moisture. The Repair Elixir does all that and works against free radicals. Plus, it smells yummy!

Sobo Essentials Antioxidant Creme and Face Nourish

Prices: $20 and $25

Theresa Cangialosi is Baltimore's aromatherapy guru, and essential oils are the hallmark of her custom-blended line of natural body products.

Where to get them: and her retail shop, Sobotanical, at 1130 S. Charles St., Federal Hill.

Why we like them: The Antioxidant Creme, high in nutrients, cleans and regenerates sun-damaged skin. Key ingredients in Face Nourish help repair dehydrated tissues.
