Baltimore

Southern

Drug arrest -- A 32-year-old Virginia man was arrested early Sunday by Maryland Transportation Authority police for tailgating another vehicle on Interstate 895. A check revealed the man was wanted by Maryland State Police for traffic violations and that his driving privileges had been suspended in Maryland and Virginia. A police search of the man's 2002 Mercedes Benz found more than 2 pounds of marijuana, a set of brass knuckles, $140, a baton and throwing stars (sharp star-shaped metal objects). Charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and held at Central Booking and Intake Center was Alfred B. Morgan 2nd of Alexandria.

Shooting -- A man, 25, was shot in the chest about 11:15 p.m. Sunday in the 4500 block of Farring Court and was reported in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police said the man was not cooperating with detectives and that no arrest had been made.

Theft -- Someone broke into a 2005 Kia parked on Poultney Street near Light Street Saturday and stole a camera and a carrying bag - all valued at $900.

Eastern

Burglary/arrest -- Police responding to a break-in at a vacant house in the 2600 block of Oliver St. on Sunday found a man standing outside the dwelling next to three rugs. After an investigation, the rugs were identified by the home's owner. Arrested and charged with burglary was Yul T. Henderson, 46, of no fixed address.

Assault -- A man, 42, reported he was walking in the 1400 block of N. Broadway about 8:30 p.m. Sunday when an unknown male struck him several times over the head and body with a piece of wood. The victim sustained cuts and bruises and was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and released. There was no arrest.

Southeastern

Shooting -- Three men were fighting in the 3300 block of E. Fayette St. about 3 a.m. Sunday when one man pulled out a semiautomatic handgun and shot another man, 31, in the upper right leg, shattering the hip bone. The victim was found nearby in the 3300 block of Pulaski Highway and taken to an area hospital. The victim's condition was not available. No arrest had been made.

Stolen vehicle -- A black 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe with unknown tags was stolen Sunday in the 6300 block of Eastern Ave.

Stolen vehicle -- Police were seeking a maroon 1998 Dodge sedan with tags 846 BCZ that was stolen over the weekend in the 3900 block of E. Pratt St.

School break-in -- Computers and their accessories - all valued at $2,100 - were stolen over the weekend from Sojourner Douglass College in the 200 block of N. Central Ave. There were no signs of forced entry.

Baltimore County

Essex

Carjacking -- A woman, 22, was leaving a drug store in the 100 block of Beacon Road in Middle River about 1 a.m. Sunday and approaching her 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier when a man armed with a knife forced her to give up her keys and drove off in the car. The car has tags 2CL R46.

Cockeysville

Burglary -- A red 2005 Honda motorcycle was stolen Sunday from a garage in the 3100 block of Painters Mill Road.

Franklin

Burglary -- Coins and jewelry - all valued at $1,000 - were stolen from a house in the 6200 block of Deer Park Road between July 22 and Sunday by someone who entered through a kitchen window.
