Harford County and state fire officials were seeking the cause of a two-alarm house fire in Whiteford that claimed one person's life last night, a spokesman for the county's emergency operations center said.
The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of family members, said David Williams of Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS.
Reported about 9 p.m., the fire at a house in the 1500 block of Main St. near Route 136 was declared under control in about 30 minutes, Williams said. The victim was found in the house by firefighters and pronounced dead at the scene.
