Maryland reeled in another one Friday, making running back Gary Douglas Jr. the third recruit in two days to orally commit to the Terps.

Those of you who pay attention to this stuff might have noticed that until Friday, Maryland wasn't even listed among his choices on rivals.com. He told me Maryland caught on in June, and he first visited the campus Wednesday. He told coach Ralph Friedgen on Friday morning of his intent to play for him.

Douglas is rated a three-star prospect by rivals.com and the No. 50 back in the nation. He said he also received offers from California, Tulsa, Virginia Commonwealth, North Carolina State and Marshall.

Douglas said he picked Maryland because "the coaches, they were really down-to-earth. They were telling me the truth about things."
